Hello everyone! Summer is in full swing (although it’s felt a little more like Autumn recently), and a lot has been going on since our last update back in the Spring.
We’ve had a string of Umbrella.co.uk anniversaries – Adam Connell and Emma Freeman with 10 years, and Emma Alberti with 15. It’s been great to get together and celebrate their longevity with the business. I’d like to reiterate my thanks and say we’re very grateful for your continued service.
And then we have two new faces who are just beginning their time with us – George Shepley in CS and Imogen Roberts in Payroll, who will be joining us at the end of the month – a very warm welcome to you both.
We also have two who are leaving us – Jamie Norling and Bethan Wrigley. Again, I’d like to extend a thank you for your time with us and wish you much success in your new ventures.
In some business news, we are moving forward with SafeRec to provide payslip verification. SafeRec is a real-time tool designed to increase transparency and compliance in the umbrella payroll industry. It independently audits and verifies that a contractor’s payslip has been calculated correctly and that all deductions have been processed in line with HMRC regulations.
This is an extra layer of transparency and reassurance that reiterates our commitment to compliance, giving contractors full confidence that their payslips are accurate and their pay is being handled correctly. This is expected to come into play in approximately three months.
Something happening a little sooner is our summer get-together next Friday – and I look forward to seeing many of you there for some drinks and food 🥂🍕!

We’re pleased to give you the final details for our Summer get-together happening next Friday (15th August) in the Games Room.
Snacks and drinks will be available from 4 pm, with pizza arriving at 5 pm. It’s the perfect opportunity for everyone to catch up, relax, and enjoy some well-earned downtime together. We hope to see you there for a fun, laid-back evening!

We are currently in conversation with Hooper’s to arrange a ‘beauty session’ in the Games Room over the coming weeks. The idea is that a representative will come into the office with samples of products to try and talk about. We will be emailing out details once everything is confirmed.
Manchester Pride is taking place over the Bank Holiday weekend, and we’ll be making the office nice and colourful in the week leading up to celebrate.
We’ll be marking World Mental Health Day, pointing to resources that are available to help if you or someone else you know is struggling with mental health.
As a signer of the Menopause Workplace Pledge, we are committed to supporting colleagues going through the menopause by recognising that it can be a workplace issue and that employees may need tailored support.
