Your Wellbeing

The COVID-19 outbreak may cause you to feel anxious, stressed, worried, sad, helpless, overwhelmed, confused or angry. It’s important to remember it is OK to feel this way and that everyone reacts differently to different events.

In this section we have included some of our favourite videos and tools to help you manage your wellbeing.

Alternatively, if you would like to chat to someone, call your free 24/7 helpline and speak to a trained telephone counsellor, on 0800 074 4319

Kid’s Activities

With the schools closed, we’re faced with the challenge of educating and entertaining our children at home. According to experts, if you are teaching your children at home, making it fun is vital.

We’ve put together a collection of creative and educational videos and resources to help you educate and entertain.

There are some great online tools to help with their Maths and English skills – with some paid-for services, now free of charge to help during this time including NASA club, Chester Zoo, Carol Vordeman’s Maths Factor, Premier League Primary Stars and the World of David Walliams.

Get them using their imagination, playing or learning music or making something they’re proud of with some creative activities including 14 great science experiments.

Even though you may not be able to visit Disneyland or other theme parks, due to the Coronavirus outbreak, it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a little of the magic from your own homes. The Virtual Disney YouTube Channel have put together a huge library of videos for you and the family to enjoy. We will also feature a different virtual ride on this page each weekday.

Eating Well

During this outbreak, your weekly shop may look a little different to normal. The NHS Eatwell Guide (correct title?) shows how much we should eat of each food group to achieve a healthy, balanced diet. You do not need to achieve this balance with every meal but try to get the balance right over a day or week if you can.

If you’re looking to brush up on your skills in the kitchen or looking for ideas to get the kids involved with the cooking, you’ll find a range of step-by-step recipes on your portal.

If you’ve struggled to find your regular groceries and need some help whipping up some delicious culinary delights with what’s in your cupboard, we’ve included a couple of videos to help.

You can also find discounts for your essential shop at the major supermarkets, in your Discount Section.
